I met Clara Kerns while working as a police officer at the Eugene Airport about three years ago. Clara and her husband introduced themselves to me and told me that their son was a Eugene Police Officer. (actually Lt. Kerns at the time) I only spoke to them for about 15 minutes, but when they walked away, I remember thinking, "what an adorable couple" and how lucky Lt. Kerns was to have such great parents.
