Not sure what to say?

She entered my mind about a month ago. Because of her, I got the opportunity to go graduate school at Howard University's School of Business and Public Administration on a grant. She was very professional, highly intellectual, young ( about 24 years old at that time as the chairman of Dept. of Public Administration) and yet so unselfish and caring to all she knew.
I am saddened because I never got a chance to tell her how grateful I was that God sent her my way. She is the reason I am...

I am just seeing this Clara Meek Obituary. I thought I was Googling the name a person who set an unbelievable standard for my life. Someone who I never really fully got a chance to thank as a young man. Clara provided me with my first job at HUD. She was one of the greatest examples of professionalism and intellect I have known - but more that. I was looking for job at HUD and someone said go talk to Clara Meek. She is real. So, I did. She gave a brief audience and said she did not have...

UT Law study buddy ... the classiest, most prepared, most professional person in our class. A moral compass that set an example for all who knew her. Sorry to hear the world has lost her.

Remembering you on your Birthday June 30th.
You are always in my prayers and I thoroughly enjoyed working for you at V&E. June Marsh

I am so so sorry for your loss. Clara and Gwen adopted me into their family when I moved to Houston in 2002 to teach middle school. Clara was close friends with my Aunt, and before leaving NC after graduating college, my Aunt begged me to be sure I reached out to Clara upon arriving in Houston. It was my first time living that far from home but Clara and Gwen made sure that I was well taken care of. We stayed in contact over the years but I lost touch with her when I moved to Copenhagen 3...

I am so sorry I am just now finding out that she passed. I called to check on her during the hurricane and called several times to see how she was doing. I knew her from her summer internship at Covington & Burling Law Firm. We became very close friends. I will always remember her kindness.

I had the privilege of woking often with Clara at V&E, She was an intelligent, careful, and thorough attorney. She represented the best instincts of the profession. I am also proud to have considered her as a friend, not just a law partner.

More importantly she was a fine human being, with admirable character. This is best shown by the work she did in her community following her leaving the law practice because of her physical infirmity. Despite that infirmity, she persevered and...

Aunt Clara you will be missed from your family in Cleveland Ohio

To the family of one of my dearest S-Heros and friends, Clara Meek. We worked with her for many years @ V&E.

My father was intrigued by her brilliance, and we had the honor of having lunch and dinner with her many times at Luby's off Fannin. He was a classmate of Barbara Jordan in the 1950's and said she reminded him of her.

We knew that she was accomplished but had no true idea of her level of Giving and Greatness. She definitely left her mark and always remained true to...
