Dennis Funeral Home - New Orleans Obituary

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

2 nd Timothy 4:7

Clarence Williams was born on September 19, 1955, in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph Williams & Lillie Lawson Walker. He departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was a long-time resident of River Ridge, LA and spent majority of his early years in “Gert Town”, (no one, could tell him anything about 3321 Fern Street of New Orleans). At an early age Clarence accepted JESUS CHRIST as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at St. John of Ark Christian School. He held onto his Faith in Christ as he took his last breath. He believed by faith that he would be with the Lord, and that he would be reunited with his loved ones who have passed on.

Clarence attended Alcee Fortier High School of New Orleans, LA. He was a Butcher by trade, and a skilled craftsman making memorable items by hand. He enjoyed playing dominoes, socializing, hanging out with family and friends, and debating anyone on any topic. Clarence always had to have the last word. He was often called “Nutty Butty” because he was Nutty & your Butty all at the same time. He didn’t mind opening his doors to anyone who needed help. He will be greatly missed.

The life that he lived and the Joy he spread are evident by the many loved ones he leaves to cherish his memory. Clarence Williams leaves to cherish his memories, (1) son; Clarence (Java) Jordan; (3) sisters; Theresa Williams, Sherlisa Morris, & Nicole Johnson Walker; (2) grandchildren; Aujuan (Niel) Marsalis & Jaylah Jordan / who he called 3 nickels; (2) great grandchildren; Zuri Marsalis and Xeo Marsalis;(4)
stepchildren, Frank Jordan, Tyrone (Suprina) Jordan, Yolanda (Glynn) Gray, Jefferey Jordan, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Clarence Williams was preceded in death by his parents; the late Joseph Williams & Lillie L. Walker; his stepfather, Atlas Joe Walker Sr., (3) brothers; Floyd Williams, Atlas Joe Walker Jr., M.B. Lewis Walker, (1) sister, Henrietta Lisa Morris, (1) longtime friend, (Mrs. Joyce) Jessie Jordan Clay, (1) stepson, Christopher Jordan, and (1) nephew, James Danny Morris.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers and members of New Generation Fellowship are all invited to attend his homegoing celebration on Friday August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at New Generation Fellowship 1000 Clay Street, Kenner, La 70062. Interment will be private. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am in the above named church.

To Minister Clarence Jordan and Family:
My family and I are sadden to hear of the transitioning of your father. He is resting now in his heavenly home. I pray that you are celebrating him in love through fond memories. I pray that you can rest in the hope of joy. Psalm 30:5 says "weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning". We are sending love and prayers to you and your family. May the God of Peace with all of you during this time of grief.
