BENTLEY, Clarence E. - Of Mt. Morris, age 87, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Tender Care Health Center in Frankenmuth. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Clifford Tucker officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Clarence was born in Eddy, Kentucky on January 12, 1924. He lived in Southfield for many years. Clarence married Mona Yonts on July 25, 1949 and were married for 62 years. Mr. Bentley served in the U.S. Army during World War II and achieved a Bronze and Silver Star. He was a truck driver for Michigan Refrigeration for 30 years. Clarence was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and Deacon at Redford Church of Christ and Carpenter Road Church of Christ. Surviving are wife, Mona; sons, Steven and wife Diane of Oklahoma and Randolph and wife Vickie of Birch Run; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Opal Bentley and Susie Bentley of Kentucky.
