Dear Nancy and Gordon,
Mom sent me the news about "Darby".
I have so many wonderful memories of the times we shared together... Your dad reminded me so much of my own. I remember with great joy the Christmas Eve's we spent at the Eller's (Bali Jai and the picolo player)!!! and the wonderful treats from him that always seemed to appear. You were so lucky to have had super parents that loved you so. Cherish all the wonderful memories.

I will miss Darby dearly. He was truely one of the sweetest men I've ever known. His regular visits to the golf course to bring us girls flowers is something I will always remember fondly. I am fortunate to have one of his beautiful plumerias growing in my yard to remember him by. He was generous, kind, and lived a wonderful life. He was quite a man! One who truly treasured his family. The pride he showed with the mention of children or grandchildren was there for all to see.

When he would go out to eat, he knew every waitress by name and they his. He usually didn't have to place an order, they already knew.
