Read MoreAs his Heart Surgeon, Clarence being my oldest operative patient at age 94, I called Clarence out of the blue one day from my back yard, and asked him if we could get a picture together when he had 100 candles on his cake. He replied, "Doc, you're a little late, I'm 102." It was such a joy to see his face volunteering around the hospital. He left me with some good memories. Dr. Matter

Clarence is one of my strongest memories growing up and attending Gaston Avenue Baptist with my family. He was always affable and impeccably dressed—and always there. He moved along to Gaston Oaks with my family members in Dallas and was there when we buried my sister, dad and lastly my mom. He was a fellow graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School too. Peace, love and warm memories of Clarence to his family and friends.
