Wow... It's taken me some time to get my head around the loss of a great brother and friend. Jerry (as I knew him) was always a friend since we first connected during his jazz show at WCVE in Richmond. I hung out with him at VSU many times and at his home in Chesterfield. He was always sharing knowledge and we swapped many stories as we are both USAF vets. I'm so glad we recently got to hang out a couple of times and he got to hear my jazz guitar album (which he encouraged me to record for...

Good evening. I just learned tonight that my good friend and fraternity brother, Clarence A. Hamlar, Jr., is no longer with us in body; may his spirit live on, and we learn something from his words and life's teachings.

Great person to have an impact on my life as well as others, miss drinking iced tea and chicken wings with ya !

What beautiful man, he was the best we go so far in time I will always love ❤ him because he was a great friend and a big part of my life my heart is heavy at this but I know for sure that we will meet again I Heaven where will rejoice in our Father in Heaven have

I will miss that voice and Blues knowledge you shared with us Blues lovers on WFOS-FM in the afternoons. R.I.P. Jerry

Rest in peace! My other big brother. Donnie and all our family members are there with you. God Bless! Condolences to the family.

Moon was a good guy to the younger boys in the Rugby boys in the neighborhood back in the late fifties and sixties. He was a true friend and he always had time to talk and share stories. He loved all music at an early age especially jazz.Whenever he came back home Snooky Poindexter,Moon and I would get together to play tennis and tease each other .I will miss my friend and his stories. Sweet journey my brother.
