HENDRIX, Clarence M. - Of Flint, age 84, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Alan Sikes officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 5-8PM Thursday and 10AM-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Clarence was born in Holly Pond, Alabama on May 4, 1921. He was a resident of the Flint area for many years. Clarence married Grace Whaley on November 1, 1939 in Alabama. He was a member of UAW Local #598, Swartz Creek Masonic Temple #458. Clarence was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He retired in 1983 from General Motors Truck and Bus after 31 years of service. Surviving are wife, Grace; 4 children, Sherrol "Bud" and wife Kay of Flint, Jimmie and wife Mary of Swartz Creek, Joe and wife Carol of Swartz Creek, Tammy and husband Mike Parillo of Flint; 7 grandchildren, Tonya and husband Dave Blake, Tracy and wife Sue Hendrix, Jill and husband Dave Terrian, Brian and wife Tori Hendrix, Ryan Hendrix, Tara Hendrix and Joey Parillo; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Flossie Harris, Alene Mayfield, Emogene Russell and Alba-Ruth Moore; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James T. Hendrix, mother, Mary Magdalene Phillips, step-mother, Nellie Hendrix and brother, Talmadge Hendrix. A special thank-you to Jackie Silva, Nancy Bell, Raquel McCallister and Genesys Hospice for their care and support.
