Not sure what to say?

Clarence was a wonderful and kind-hearted man. I am sad to hear of his passing. I think back to all the times we spent together at law enforcement seminars and meetings. His wife, Ella, was one of the first Police Chief wife's I met and she welcomed me with open arms - as well as the others. To the family, know he made difference in so many life's. Hugs to you all!

I will miss you Clarence you were a sweet person

It it was a privilege to take care of Mr. Hoffman at North Kansas City Acute Rehab this last time. He was also a family friend for many years. He knew my parents. Prayers to his family.

Chief Hoffman gave me my start in law-enforcement and I owe a great career to him. He was a great man who made those around him better people and became a really good friend. Not only to me but for many of the guys that worked for him. Many of us moved on to other departments but we stayed close over the years. He is the true definition of a leader and an devout man. It was an honor to be his friend and to serve under him. My prayer for his family is peace of heart and great memories

Clarence was a great boss and a wonderful man. It was a pleasure to know him.

It is with such a heavy heart to hear Clarence passed. I know I speak for all my co- workers at McCrite Assisted Living that it was an absolute honor to have met Mr.Hoffman and we are all better people for having known him. He will be dearly missed. May God comfort you in the days and weeks ahead.

Sincerely,
Kim Forshay

To the Hoffman Family - My heart is with you at this time. He was known by my family for two generations. My mother, Beulah Shepherd, worked with him at headquarters, during her time in Crimes Against Persons. I worked with him while in Personnel. My brother, Officer Larry Riggs, knew him well. His kindness to his work family was stellar. He attended my mother's funeral when she passed. People do remember honor, decency, and kindness - always. I wish your family well and keep your...

Clarence was my first commanding officer when I joined the KCPD in 1972. He was a true professional who was respected by all. Rest in peace.
