Oct. 17, 1919 - Aug. 23, 2008 Clarence R. Howard, 88, first chief of security at Alabama A&M, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday. A native of Decatur and a resident of Huntsville for many years, he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after a tour in India....

May you find peace and comfort from one who rules over all. As a young lady attending the university;I remember Mr. Howard as a no nonsense person,who took his job serious with an eye for making certain that you were where you should be at all times.
I have a "dated" Jet magazine with a picture of Mr. and Mrs. Howard celebrating their wedding anniversary.
