SHEARIN, Clarence Edward, age 76, of South Hill, died March 24, 2009. He was a retired master trooper with the Virginia State Police, with 34 years of service, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Victoria United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine Shearin and John Jones of Midlothian; a sister, Doris Shearin of South Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Service, Chase City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association/Southeastern Va. Chapter, 120 South Hill Avenue, South Hill, Va. 23970. My thoughts are with you,Clarence's family, during this time. We were close friends when he lived in Victoria and we all used to gather at Stanly Perkins' Texaco in Kenbridge. All I have are fond memories of Clarence.
