Not sure what to say?

45 years later I can remember every art project she had us do and as an adult 5 decades later, would love to do them all again. She entertained us while she taught us , she was feared and loved simultaneously and for those of us lucky enough to have been in her class, whatever you are doing, she's a reminder to the difference you make when you do it well.

I have fond memories of Mrs Cogen. She was my 6th grade teacher at Decatur and my favorite. We did so many fun projects, I remember them well. Mrs. Cogen was very understanding and supportive when my mom became ill during the year I had her. May her memory be a blessing and condolences to her family.

She was my 6th grade teacher at Decatur School in Chicago. I, together with all of my classmates, remember her and still enjoy the life-long influence she has had on us.

Clarice Cogen was an extraordinary woman and teacher. All of our 6 children had her for 6th grade at Decatur School. She remembered every Student she had. Our son Danny said she is the teacher I think about when I tell people that the best teachers often are the ones who have high expectations and standards for students too. Cynthia said she made her feel smart. Clarice also mentored the parents, especially we mothers. How lucky I was in the last several years to be with her at Agam Hadassah...

I got to know Clarise and Roy through my parents Mildred and Percy Mendelsohn. They were such good friends and my wife, Dena Berkin, and I were happy to continue that friendship after my parents were gone. It was so wonderful that she traveled to Los Angeles for our son's bar mitzvah and she was always a part of the Mendelsohn and Chait family celebrations. Our condolences to the whole family.

My condolences to the family. Mrs. Cogen was far and beyond the best teacher I had. I had her for what was her first year of teaching at Decatur Elementary and came to find out later that she was quite nervous, but also that she cherished us, as her first class. May be memory be for a blessing.

Mrs. Cogen was my teacher at Decatur School from 1974-1976. I became a social studies teacher in CPS, in part, due to her influence. She was tough, she was challenging, she was interesting, and she was an inspiration to me. May her memory be a blessing.
