He recruited me and I played for him for four years. There is no one that had more influence on me than Coach Wood. Over the years I have always kept in touch and we played golf several times. He was a special person!

Sorry about the lose. Coach was a great man.

I spent two hours with Coach on Oct 24th we talked about the 1947 undefeated team, and it was like the season was yesterday, he remember every one. He is your loss and my dear loss as well. We who played for him, loved him. Coach and Polly were our guest, in FL and we had a wonderful time together.

Ben,
Ron and I remember your Dad so favorably. He was a a modest, wonderful, powerful figure for both of us. This country and UL is a better place because of him. Please know you are in our prayers. Our deepest sympathies.

What a fantastic man. I am so honored to have been his nurse. He was kind, and funny, and a sharp man. His children are a beautiful reflection of his personal greatness. May the Lord bless Mr. Wood and his whole family.

Pat, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I am glad I got to see him when I did. He was a great guy...Jerry

Frank & Ben, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was a unique person who I am proud to have known. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Jim Gray.
