Dear Linda,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I knew your parents through Chevron and all the organizations they were involved in. The community will really miss them.

Linda,
I am so sorry to have read about your dads passing. I remember when he came in to talk to the students about some fossil rocks. It was a blessing to have known him. In my prayers, Lupe Calvillo..

Claude Fiddler and kern river field, we never shut up about those wells and rigs and hands and blow-outs, and how much money oilfield workers made... I love oilfield history and i was glad to have met Claude. What a treat for myself to listen to Claude's experiences. What a great guy, I will personally miss you on fridays at foodmaxx.God's best to your family who according to you were all great in math.I will go back to school someday.

Nearly 28 years ago I signed on with Standard Oil. I was "miscast" as an oilfield operator. The foreman at the time was not a big fan of "college boys" and tried to run me off. Claude had a hand in getting me transferred to a job where I could use my math skills. Today I am working with Data and absolutely love my career and I am very good at it. I was blessed that Claude was the Area Manager at that time because it would have been easier to give up on me. My wife recently served on jury duty...

I probably knew Claude longer than most in that he and I shared office at Caltech when we both received our M.S. degrees in geology. Further, we shared many common experiences in the oil business. Claude was a fine man, resourceful and dependable, and above all a good friend.

Linda,
I am so sorry for your losses. This has been a rough year already for you but what a blessing to have such wonderful memories. You all are much in our thoughts and prayers.
