Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions - Hampton Obituary

Claude “Randy” Martin, Jr., 57, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023. Except for a few years in Merritt Island, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of Tidewater, having lived in Hampton, Gloucester, Newport News, and York County. He moved back to Hampton in 2017. He helped operate Furniture Fashions in Newport News for many years with his parents, before getting into residential construction and repairs. He was employed by A.Q. Construction in Norfolk until his illness in May of this year.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Sonya and Claude Martin Sr. He is survived by his partner, Eileen M. Addison; and brother, Matthew P. Martin. His passions included his family and friends, dogs, fishing, boating, beaches and fast cars.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be made in his memory to The Animal Aid Society in Hampton, or to the charity of your choice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Riverside Walter Reed Medical Center, the UVA Transplant Clinic, and VCU Critical Care Hospital for their compassion and medical care. Special thanks also to dear friends, Arthur and Jennifer Jacobs, Rachel Patterson and Cameron Messeder for your love and support over the past 6 years.
