Claudette M. Nolin, 88, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 in Shutesbury.
Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Rondeau) Dorsey. Claudette was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert P. Nolin. Together they raised their family in South Hadley, though over the years she also spent time as a resident of Danville, Illinois, and Fort Collins, Colorado.
A proud graduate of St. Anne's Academy in Marlborough, Claudette went on to complete her undergraduate studies at Westfield State before earning her Master's Degree from American International College. She dedicated her entire career to education, working as both an Elementary and Special Education teacher in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Danville, Illinois, and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Claudette was also a devoted mother and grandmother and a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley.
She leaves behind her loving children: Claire Nolin and her husband Al of Florida, Deborah Welch and her husband Robert of Texas, Theresa Rivers and her husband Mark of Shutesbury, Elizabeth Williams of Texas, and Robert Nolin and his wife Kelly of Nebraska. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Stauffer of Iowa; her brother, Paul Duquette and his wife Kathy of Westfield; her cherished grandchildren Carolyn, Anthony, Mark, Marie, Amanda, Katherine, Edward, Susan, and Thomas; and her treasured great-grandchildren Damien, Anthony Jr., Tabitha, Adalyn, Lillian, John Mark, Annie, Branson, Robbie, Melody, Theodore, Emmalyn, and Nolin. Claudette will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:00–10:30 AM at O'Brien Family Funeral Home in South Hadley, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, also in South Hadley.
