Vaughn Funeral Home - Spring City Obituary

Clay Coulter age 78 of Spring City, Tennessee diedTuesday, November 29, 2022 at Rhea County Medical Center in Dayton, Tennessee. He was born on June 11, 1944. Clay was a graduate of Spring City High School, “Class of 1962”. He worked at various manufacturing companies and retired from SSM Industries.  Clay enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his grandchildren and his cats “Prissy” and “Belle”. He was a member of Spring City United Methodist Church.


Clay is preceded in death by his parents Hugh Wallace Coulter and Margaret Coulter Miller, and his sister Carlene Coulter Massengill.


Survivors include his wife of 61 years Mary L. Coulter of Spring City, Tennessee; children Tina (Johnny Ray) Thompson and Matt (Jamie) Coulter both of Spring City, Tennessee; grandchildren Brian (Jen) Thompson, Bridget (Gage) Hughes, twins Caroline and Charlotte Coulter, and Ella Kate Coulter, and great grandchild Bodhi Thompson.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Porter-Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM before the service at Vaughn Funeral Home.


Memorials can be given to Spring City United Methodist Church, 245 Church St, Spring City, TN 37381 in his memory.
