Clay Long

Clay was special. A classy guy with great intelligence, skill and grace. As a lawyer he was first-rate. As a person he was the best. We have all lost a great human.

I am related to Elizabeth Long. I visited them in Atlanta in 1964 while I was working for part of a year from Britain. I remember meeting one of his lawyer friends. He must have had a terrific career. I would like to have known them better.

I offer my sincere condolences to Judge Long, Katie and the rest of Clay's family. Clay was a brilliant and courageous man, lawyer and leader. I was blessed to have been among those mentored by him. I appreciate that Clay supported me when I practiced law with his firm. I appreciate even more that he supported me when I decided to leave the practice of law to pursue another path.
