Memory: Loretta and John moving to the country, and sharing their home with Clayton Turner & Kurt Steffen to open The Clayton Turner Gallery. I will never forget his mom making pie out on Jensen Avenue, and--once we got moved into the gallery on Clovis, Avenue--she was so kind: She taught me how to use an old-fashioned iron skillet to make fried potatoes the way Clay liked them. My husband's brother, Olen McCullar was a long-time friend of Clayton's.Olen knew Clayton as a young man, and used to cut his hair after he had his accident. They became close friends over the years. Olen lives in Seminole, Oklahoma now. I will send the notices to him to read. He will be sadded to hear of the death of his friend.
