My condolences to the family. Gene and I served together in Norway. He was a wonderful man. His great saying was "Guess What?" He was part of a great Amcc unit in Dayton.

Gene was a dear friend who was greatly loved and he will be greatly missed. He was an elder and a Native American mentor to many, including me. Gene loved people and he embraced his Native American heritage. Gene went out of his way to make sure everyone was welcome to Native American ceremonies and his annual Pow Wow. He was a teacher of the traditional ways of the Shawnee. Gene respected the ancestors and he honored their ways. They were his ways.
