Cleve Edward Fleming, Sr. was born in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late Cleveland Fleming and Lena Mae Hawkins Fleming on July 22, 1964.  He quietly transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Mariah Parham Health in Henderson, North Carolina.

Cleve received his education from the Halifax County School System and graduated from Northwest Halifax, High School, Littleton, NC with the class of 1982. During his early life, Cleve attended church at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Halifax, NC.  At the time of his demise, he was a proud and faithful member of Grace Ministries in Henderson, North Carolina, under the leadership of Pastor Jamie Elliot.

Cleve Fleming was a great father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  He loved sports, spending time with his family and friends, and most of all, he loved God.  He was a people person and always enjoyed helping people in need.

Cleve was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Lena Mae Fleming, and a brother Manuel Fleming.

Those left to cherish the memory of his life and share the legacy of his love are his son, Cleve Fleming, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids NC; his loving siblings, Tina Goins (Richard), and Ricky Newell, Sr. both of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Rev. Leon Abbott of Henrico, NC; three nieces, Kandrian, Briana, and LanQuita, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one nephew, Ricky Jr.; one aunt, Jennie Milton of Richmond, VA; a special cousin, Linda Fleming; two daughters at heart, Faye Robinson, and Kokeita Robinson; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends who all loved him very much and will greatly miss his earthly presence.

Not sure what to say?

Cleve was a nice guy who loved everyone. Cleve had a heart of gold, and he never turned away from helping people. I know that everyone that he came across knew how he was and he will be greatly missed by all.

Cleve was a person who always had a smile, a kind word, and a personality that would attract many. He was truly a person you wanted to call your friend. I am so sorry to hear of his demise, as he and I were friends from yesteryears. He always picked at me about being a Duke Fan and graduate of Eastman High School:) The many fond memories I have will forever be treasured. Rest in paradise my friend, you have finished your course.

I had the pleasure of knowing Cleve while caring for his mother. He was a sweet, kind and generous person who loved his family and friends. My heart goes out to the family for their tremendous loss.

Sending my love and prayers to the family. May God be with you on this day. Cleve was one of the few family members that I know and looked forward to seeing during our visits. My heart is with you Tina, Richard, and the twins.

Love & Prayers to the family

We are truly sorry for your loss. May God bless and keep you in His Loving Arms.

I never saw Cleve w/o a smile, and he had such an humble spirit; we will miss you much; but we know that you can rest in peace now w/ our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have a void right now, and are heavy burdened; but it is comforting to know that God will mend all voids and give us the strength to endure. Much Love & Peace To the Family!!!

Condolences to the Fleming family. May God comfort and strengthen each of you in the days to come. I will continue to keep the family lifted in prayer.

What a gentle giant and kind person that I knew growing up with in Littleton and in Piney Grove Baptist Church. May you rest in peace my friend.
