Clifford Batz

I first met Cliff in 1984 while he was the pro at Yorktown Tennis Club. He taught me how to play tennis! After a match, he woukd always ask me how I played. Nine times out of ten my answer was, "I lost.". He'd shake his head and say, "I asked you how you played, not if you won or lost!". Hmmmm, he definitely taught me perspective. I had the pleasure of becoming friends with Cliff thru tennis and the Hershey racquet club. Never a dull moment: a happy, fair, fun, tough player, whose commentary was welcomed by me and seldom stopped. I was very disappointed when he left the club; it was never quite the same. I´m sure we would have had a blast playing pickle ball. See you on the courts sometime in the future ,my friend!
