Dear Doreen, Robert and Amy, I was shocked and saddened to read about Cliff's passing. He was a kind and good person. I enjoyed talking with him when he would walk your little black dog around the neighborhood, and I think I'm the one who put him in touch with Holy Names Orchestra when I found out he was a musician. I enjoyed playing my cello in that orchestra for many years, and my brother plays trombone and occasionally played next to Cliff. We miss him and all of you in Piedmont, and hope...

Cliff was a good friend for almost fifty years. He had a great sense of humor, but was always able to use it in a way that didn't demean others. Cliff was also one of the smartest people I have known. The world is terribly short of good people, and now we've lost another one. Cliff old buddy, you will be missed.
