I'm so sorry to discover this news. Dr. Turen was the finest orthopedic surgeon on the planet and I had a 30 year Marine Corps career because of his skill. My deepest belated sympathy to his family.

Thinking of you... It's been a year since you left us. Please know you are dearly missed! I often think of you dancing in the OR in Portsmouth..teaching, training and singing! I often wonder, 'what's become of the broken hearted?' Miss you greatly

I was saddened and shocked to hear of Dr. Turens passing. My family and I were struck by a drunk driver in 2006 causing me to almost lose my lower leg. Dr. Turen not only saved my leg, he saved my life. I was his patient for 2 years between Shock Trauma and Hopkins. Dr. Turen was honest and compassionate about helping me. He always told me he would do everything in his power to save my leg and he did just that. He had every right to be proud of his work, He had referred to my trauma as...

Truly a great loss. As a young sailor I was supposed to lose my leg. Twenty-five years ago Dr. Turen rebuilt my lower leg after being shot. I later had the pleasure of watching him work (instead of being a patient) as I supported systems he used in surgery. I am still walking on the leg he rebuilt. Rest in peace.

I am so deeply saddened by the news Of Dr.Cliff Turen's death. He and his family lived next door in West Hempstead,NY .when Cliff was just a child. I was his babysitter on occasion. My brother Don and Cliff were good friends and I have memories of his mom, Georgia, and dad, Sydney, as well as his grandparents who had a butcher's shop in Malverne, NY (Grandpa's Prime Meats) He was quite a bright child and I was not surprised when I learned years ago that he had become an orthopedic surgeon ....

My condolences. My prayers for Dr. Turen's family and friends. I had great respect for Dr. Turen. I appreciated his honesty, straight forwardness and respectfullness. He was incredibly talented. Dr. Turen put my husband's leg back together are a gunshot shattered his leg. My husband can walk because of Dr. Turen. I can never thank him enough.

It is with great sadness that we hear of Dr. Turen's passing. I know his Family and closest friends will miss him greatly and we pray for their comfort in their times of loss.
I can also assure them that like myself many of his past and present patients will never forgot what he has done for them.
Seven years ago I arrived at Baltimore's Shock Trama Unit, I was not even supposed to make the hospital. A few days later my wife remembers "A very Kind and Gentle man with a twinkle...
