Clifford McGhee Wooten

I had the distinct honor of having Mrs. Wooten as my counselor at New Bern High in the early seventies. Although I did not visit her office that often, I do recall her being a very caring and empathetic counselor who led many students in the right direction. I will always remember the "big smile" she gracefully carried on her face at all times. May you find everlasting peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven!

Mrs. Wooten helped us to make some wise decisions during our transition from West Street to J.T. Barber. We may not have always liked her decisions but we realized she had our best interest at heart.

The world is a much better place for having known Mrs. Wooten. She helped me many years ago realize my potential as a high school student and she gave me the courage to keep moving forward on to college, which I never thought possible until I met her. I have her to thank for my life today. She was a very special lady who was there for anyone who needed her, with grace, warmth, compassion and a wonderful sense of humor. I know she will greatly be missed by all who knew her.
