heart felt prayers to family.WE had a alot of good times with cliff THE CAPTAIN AND ME GOOD MUSIC GOOD TIMES SADLY MISSED Bob and Donna Chenoweth

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brown family at this time of sorrow. I remember Cliff as being a very focused guy at Notre Dame. He was indeed a trailblazer particularly in an environment that was slowly evolving. God bless you my brother.

You have left us too soon my friend. I could not attend your services and feel very bad about that. You have given me such wonderful memories and I sincerely thank you for them. I will never forget you and you will be sorely missed. My heart felt sympathy goes out to your family. Please smile down on all of us - your smile is one of the warmest I have ever seen. Always keep all of us warm! With deep sadness - so long for now my friend.

My deepest condolences to the Brown Family, Cliff was the best, Always had a kind word for everybody. May he Rest Forever In Peace!!!

I was a close, close friend & teammate of Cliff's when he was at Notre Dame. He was a true brother to me & we spent alot of time together. When C.B., as we called him, showed up late (3 or 4 days late in his little yellow sports car) for our 1st practice, we said who in the hell is this guy. At that time, racism was still prevalent thoughout our society & Notre Dame wasn't exempt. Only thru time did we come to realize what a gift Cliff was to Notre Dame.It wasn't that he was our 1st black QB....

To Earleen, Cliff, Jr, Leonard and family.
I remember Cliff well growing up. He lived around the corner from me as teens and he'd come to our cookouts and we were in high school at the same time. Clifton was always the same person. Whether I saw him in the 'Village', at a game, the Blue Room or at someone's funeral he always had that BIG smile and hug. I always felt better when running into Clifton....it made my day! One day I told him....hey let me get a pic of that big smile for my...

Uncle Cliff....
Hard to believe that you are gone. Can remember all the wild stories you and my dad (Bob Chenoweth) use to tell me. I know that now you are one of god's angles that you will look over my dad, your friend and when its time for the captain to join with you, heaven will never be the seem.
Lot's of love to the family.

May you RIP Clifton. You always had a special place in my heart.

God Bless the Brown Family; Cliff (Rock) was not only an athlete, competitor even more a "Good" man, a friend. I know Cliff will rest in Peace! God's strength & Grace to you the Family..... Bob Dillard
