Merrimack – Clifton “Cliff” W. Estes Jr., 76, of Merrimack died Friday March 10, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a long illness.

He was born in Lowell, MA on July 28, 1929 a son of the late Clifton and Sally (Hollander) Estes.

Mr. Estes grew up in Nashua, graduating from Nashua Senior High School in 1947. He moved to Merrimack in 1956. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Merrimack V.F.W. Post 8641. He was also a life member of Lodge # 720, B.P.O.E of Nashua. Mr. Estes was a former Boy Scout Troop 15 scoutmaster. Mr. Estes was a member of the First Congregational church in Merrimack. He was employed at Nashua Corp for many years, and retired from Lockheed Sanders in 1990.

Mr. Estes is pre-deceased by his wife Dorothy Estes who died in 1995. Members of his family include a daughter and son in-law, Sherri Lynne and Gerald Jalbert of Merrimack, two grandchildren, Jessica Lynne and Craig Michael Jalbert also of Merrimack, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack Sunday from 4-7 PM. Funeral service will be held in the Funeral home Monday at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack. Family requests memorial contributions to the American Heart Assoc., 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
