Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Wilkerson, Clifton W., the Wilkerson Patriarch, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at American House Assisted Living Facility in Ft. Myers, Fl. He was 91 years old. He is survived by his 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and son, Steven. Although he took great pride in his children, it was the love and laughter of his grandchildren and great grandchildren that lit him up.

There are no better words about his life and person than those written by his grandchildren. He was, as they say, an Example. Family Man. Navy Man who became an Entrepreneur, News-Paper carrier, Midas Muffler Man, Real Estate owner, Landlord. Incorporated before the internet said it was cool. ‘Clif Wilkerson Inc’ on his business card. He took ownership through hard work and dedication. A man of faith and conviction, he was not persuaded by much other than his wife, daughters and maybe a few infomercials here and there. He bought all the newest gadgets.

A St. Louis Cardinal baseball guy all about his gal. Picturing them as their best selves, sitting together in Busch Stadium watching all their favorite Cardinals, winning it all in Game 7. Enjoy your reunion you two.

I’ll never hear a cicada on a summer night and not think about hot summers in St. Louis at #7. The smell of a cigar and Watercolor Jazz on Sirius XM will always make me smile. A good cereal for breakfast and cookies and milk for dessert. The value of a good chair in your favorite TV room. We never entered the house through a front door in any of the houses they owned, always through the garage and Grandpa was likely waiting on a plastic chair for you to drive up. His hugs, kisses and waves goodbye will always be in our hearts.

Such great memories with Cliff and Pat. A fun and energetic couple. They are missef

I knew Cliff so many years ago. Cliff was an entrepreneur at heart & it was clear he would be a success in any business endeavor he identified .
Cliff would pick me up for work when we both live in the south of St. Louis & remember him as a fellow always looking for an opportunity to get ahead.
We left the newspaper at about the same time for opportunity elsewhere .
While Cliff was a success in business , his calling was his family & his love of Jesus Christ.

i worked with clif at the post dispatch before he quit to get into the muffler business i always knew he would be a big sucess we were inthe mail and also carpooled together we all got on him for buying a volvo boy were we wrong

I have known this great man since I was born. I have worked for him and couldn’t have asked for a better boss. I have so many memories of our families together. BBQs , Jarts in the back yard , late nights coming home from Charcoal house. I know the four of them are up there enjoying there time together again. RIP MR MIDAS MAN.

A guy all about his gal. Your love was so inspirational ♥

Enjoy your reunion you two

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
