CLINTON GEORGE BARKER, Sr. 72 of Vaillancourt Drive, New Ipswich, formerly of Jaffrey died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at the Elliot hospital in Manchester.

He was born April 30, 1935 in Jaffrey, son of the late George and Irene (Croteau) Barker.

Clint was a 1953 graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey. He had served with the United States Air Force for four years. While in the service he met and married Helen Muriel Neisser of Victoria, Texas on December 23, 1956. Last year they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Following his discharge from the Air Force he worked for Pratt & Whitney in Hartford CT.

He then returned to Jaffrey to raise his family. For several years he worked for Overview Farm Dairy in Jaffrey and later for Atlas Fireworks, Belletete Inc. as well as custodian at Conant High School.

In 1973 he and his family moved to Texas. Returning to Jaffrey in 1976 he was employed at the New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough where he worked for the next 18 years, retiring in 1994. Upon retirement he returned to Conant High School and worked as custodian until failing health forced him to retire.

Clint was a member and past Master of Charity Lodge #18 F&AM of Jaffrey. Member of Signet Chapter # 18 Order of Eastern Star of Jaffrey, the Bekatsh Shrine and the Blue Lodge of Nashua.

He was a member of the New Ipswich Congregational Church and for the past three years has resided at Good Shepherd Healthcare Center in Jaffrey.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Helen M (Neisser) Barker of New Ipswich; a daughter Cynthia I. Payne Peoria, Arizona; two sons David E. Barker and Clinton G. Barker Jr both of New Ipswich; two grandchildren Bethany Ann Barker of MA and Ethan David Barker of VT; a sister Weltha I. Barker of Jaffrey; two nephews Theodore and Timothy Smith both of Idaho.

Family and friends are warmly invited to call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River Street, Jaffrey. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Rev. Stuart C. Nutter Interim Pastor of the New Ipswich Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Conant Cemetery, Jaffrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the New Ipswich Congregational Church, 156 Main Street, New Ipswich NH 03071.
