Retired Roadway Truckdriver and Ex-POW Services for Clinton Irvin Whitehead will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Mike Russell and Gilbert Eaves officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Whitehead, 88, of Meridian, died Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Veterans Nursing Home in Kosciusko. He was retired from Roadway and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the 141st Regiment 36th Division Company "I" and World War II Prisoner of War European Theatre captured in Herrlisheim France. Mr. Whitehead was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0125, Military order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 79, and Teamsters Union. He was also a member of the Hamasa Shrine and Scottish Rites, Oakland Heights 32nd Degree Mason, Longstreet Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 285. Survivors include his wife, Sue Whitehead; sons, Lional Whitehead of Greenville, Jimmy Ray Whitehead Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Buckeye, Ariz., and David Whitehead of Meridian; daughter, Patricia Rose of Russell; step-daughters, Julie Tabb and her husband, Ricky, of Meridian, and Rhonda Fortune and her husband, Jason, of Brandon; step-son, Barry Rhaly and his wife, LeAnn, of Dalewood; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin W. and Corrie Whitehead; three brothers, Wilson, C.W., and Wilmer; and five sisters, Bertha Hutchinson, Roseline Mixon, Lorranine Rigdon, Earline Pickard and Betty Sue White. Pallbearers will be Barry Rhaly, Mark Whitehead, Randy Harper, Tom Rigdon, James Rigdon, David Wade Mixon, Ricky Tabb and Lynn Whitehead. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Alhezeimers Association, 1190 Dunbarton Dr. Suite H, Jackson, MS 39216. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Daddy, not a day has gone by that Carolyn & I have not talked about you & how much we are going to miss you, but you know we all have those cherished memories and we will never stop talking about them.
