Obituary

Clive Stevens (aka Mystery Man), son of the late Joan and Ted Stevens, of Bristol England, passed away unexpectantly on January 24, 2019. Clive is survived by his beloved brother, Martin Stevens and his wife Kate; and nephews, James and Andrew Stevens. Clive is also survived by many cousins in England and friends from around the world.

Clive's passion for music began at an early age and it remained a driving force for him throughout his life. He attended the Berklee College of Music and in time, became a gifted multi-instrumental musician and composer. During his career, Clive played in bands Manford Man and Alan Price, and his own groundbreaking jazz-rock bands Caperius and Atmospheres. During this time, Clive treasured his friendships with fellow musicians Neville Whitehead, Phil Howard, and Gary Boyle. Most recently, Clive played at the African World Peace Festival.

Burial services will be private.

Not sure what to say?

What a great man. Always entertaining, never boring. Some of my fondest memories in the music business come from my association with Clive. I regret that I didn't know him later in our lives. I also regret that I am just now finding out that he has passed. RIP, Clive. Say hello to Semjase for me.

It was a pleasure and an honor to have created music with you and to have produced music for you on your album My Brother. Ive learned from you but more importantly we became friends. I will always remember your words when ending a telephone conversation...
Love and Light.
GOD Bless and Keep Your Spirit.

Peace , Love, Blessings, Bliss, Power, Respect...

A net search just now informs me that Clive Stevens passed away in Jan, 2019, & several months later, I sadly discover his horns & flutes are now silenced.
My time with him was a brief 40-plus years ago, but I'll meditate on his kindness to me, his broad visionary personna, & most of all, the privilege of having been exposed to his unique music.
With belated condolences to close family . . . RIP, C.S.

I first meet Clive in the US Army @ Fort Monroe, Virginia in 1966. Spend many of day talking & playing music. Most recently Clive spent a week at my home in Washington State, it had been 50 years since we saw each other but it seemed like only yesterday. I will miss you, my friend.

I am saddened to have just found out from my friend and Photographer Warren Flagler that Clive is in Heaven. We really enjoyed shooting with Clive and listening to his unique music. A beautiful soul. He will be deeply missed.

Met Clive in San Francisco, stayed with him in New York. Always enjoyed every hour of our time together. Music, art and poetry were the languages we spoke. All my love to you and to all of those you touched with the grace of your musical gift.

Farewell my beautiful friend at one with everything.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Thank You for your vision, Clive. We need folks with visions more than ever. So sad having to let you go. Love.

My cousin Clive came to see me and my family here in France in 2014, and we spent a happy week visiting the coast, the vineyards and the town of Bordeaux.
I think of that and of him.
God bless you ,Clive, and all your family.
With love , Gill , Horst , our children and grandchildren.
