LEXINGTON, Services for Clyde Conway, Jr., 78, of Lexington, will be held at 11am Monday, September 12, 2005, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by The Reverend Thomas J. Conway. Entombment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Sunday evening in the funeral home. For those who wish memorials may be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.
Mr. Conway died Thursday, September 8, 2005. Born in Louisiana, he was a son of the late Clyde McClelan, Sr., and Daisy Mae Bruce Conway. He was a retired Lt. Commander of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Conway was the former head of the computer department for Lexington County.
Surviving are his daughter, Danelia Conway Brunson of Lexington; son, Charles David Conway and wife Midge of Annapolis, MD; sisters, Betty Jane Eubanks, Dorothy Williams, Joyce Griffin, Karolyn Farnell, and Brenda Smith all of Arkansas; brothers, Hunter Kaugho Conway of Delaware, James D. Conway, Jerry Conway, Charles M. Conway, Daniel Conway, Stanley W. Conway all of Arkansas and Thomas J. Conway of North Carolina; grandchildren, Joseph C. Brunson and wife, Susan of Lexington, Alicia R. Quarles and husband John of Irmo; great grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Jacob and Jenna Brunson of Lexington, Joseph Howell of Texas and Kristopher Quarles of Irmo. Mr. Conway was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ruth Kennedy Conway, brothers, William and John E. Conway; granddaughter, Misti Brunson Howell.
