Crofts-Crow Funeral Home - Blanco Obituary

Clyde Charles Coon, a beloved member of the Spring Branch and Johnson City community, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023. Born on March 21, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana, Clyde was the loving son of Fred A. Coon, Jr. and Margaret Estelle (Stuntz) Coon.


Clyde's passion for life was contagious, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a devoted father to his son, Charles B. Coon. Clyde also leaves behind his cherished brother, Fred Coon, III, (wife Harryette) and dear friend and companion Peggy Crate. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Jenny Kenny (Webber) Coon.


Clyde's educational journey led him to graduate from Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana, before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from LSU. He dedicated his professional years to the field, working for Reliance Electrical and later at Big 3 Industrial Gas Co., from which he retired. Clyde's expertise and dedication made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the organizations he served.


The memory of Clyde will forever be treasured by his extended family, including his numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


A memorial service honoring Clyde’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2023, with Rev. Jennifer Kelley officiating, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home, 911 Mesquite, Blanco, TX 78636 (P.O. Box 1270).
