Clyde Mosteller, 65, of Toledo passed away March 8, 2010, at St. John Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Hayesville, N.C., to Horace and Willie (Roland) Mosteller and attended North Carolina schools.

On July 1, 1965, Dick married Dorrine Rae Robins in Napavine, Wash.

Dick was a truck driver for Weyerhaeuser for 23 years and retired from J.L. Storedahl & Sons in 1994. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, welding, gardening and visiting with family and friends. Dick was kind and loving. He was very social and "never met a stranger."

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Dorrine Mosteller, in May 2009.

Dick is survived by a son, Darren Mosteller of Toledo; two daughters, Anita Stone of Everett and Brenda Newby of Forest Lake, Minn.; seven brothers, Billie Joe Roland, Dean Mosteller and Orville Mosteller, all of Chehalis, Ted Mosteller of Toledo, Wendell Mosteller and Matt Olsen, both of Toutle, and Howard Mosteller of Monroe, Wash.; two sisters, Bernell Wheatley Castle Rock and Marilyn Whaley of Abottsford, B.C.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cowlitz Prairie Grange.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Foundation, Dialysis Center, P.O. Box 3002, Longview, WA 98632.

Arrangements are by Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel.

Darren, Anita, & Brenda, Sorry to hear of your dads passing. I will miss him coming into the office and bumping into him around town. He was a very special man to many. Brenda, you call me anytime.....My thoughts are will you all.

I am sorry I lost my great uncle i didn't get to Know him to much but the things i did with him are memerable moments such as going into the mountains and enjoying life sencirly.

I used to work with Dick in Kalama many years ago for weyerhauser. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. He will be missed.

Darrin and family, Brenda and family, Anita and Family. Where to begin. Dick and Doreen were truly the Love Story we all want. Someone like Nicholas Sparks could have written a book about them both. We will miss them both dearly. But have found comfort that they are together for all eternity. We will miss the camping trips, wedding party's at their home, and most of all the pot lucks. The "teddy bear" as we knew him is gone.....But, I know he is "up there"
raising a ruckus and Doreen is shaking her finger at him! We will cherish our memories and let time heal our broken hearts.
