Clyde R. Riddle, 69, a resident for 13 years of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, and an engineer for 35 years with the Bird Machine Company of South Walpole, Massachusetts, until his retirement in 1987, died unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital on Sunday, September 3, 2000. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 7, 2000, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to memorial services on Thursday, September 14, 11 a.m., at St. Mary Church, South Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.

I never met Clyde but am thankful for all the work he did bringing his shipmates together. I wish you peace and tranquility in these most difficult times. All of us will sailing calm seas together one of these days.
