Not sure what to say?

Bud was a great addition to our South Frederick Elementary staff. When he coached Frederick High School
's basketball team, we were part of "Rowdy Rogers" team cheering squad, even having t-shirts made for it. I still have mine, in fact. Bud was a cool guy and always remembered.

My mother, Muriel Hockersmith, spoke so highly of Mr. Rogers. May he be brightening the day of her in heaven now as he did at Poolesville Elem School

I learned from Coach Rogers some life lessons while playing baseball for him in 1977 on the 13 yr old All Star team. I got the game winning hit, but missed a sign to not swing (take). As the game ended he congratulated me and then made me run laps, because that's what we did if we missed any signs. That goes to show you even though you are the star, you can obey the rules just like the rest of the team.

A fine legacy he left behind. Delta Pi Brother, Bill Watkins.

I am forever grateful to have had the privilege to know and play for and against Mr. Bud Rogers! At a time when a lot of us had to grow up without a Father figure in the home he gratefully filled that void! He was a Great Man in every sense of the word and he will be missed but never forgotten! RIP Much Love & Respect....

Bud Rodgers was my 6th grade teacher, he was innovative for our time; caring, fair, smart and inspirational to us all. Old friends, best friends then: Beth, Heidi, Chuckie, Brian, Colleen, Laura, Gary (rip), Kelly, Sheryl, all the rest...definitely a mixed bag of kids, he brought us together and brought out the best in us all. My favorite memories are the specials--the book play in the library, the "yearbook" we put together for our 6th grade class inspired by Mr. Rogers, but most of all when...

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Roger's passing. He was my Media teacher at South Frederick and I always remember how exciting he made coming to the library and books! Everyone wanted to hang out in the Media Center with Mr. Rogers! He was the best and so cool! I remember feeling so honored to have been chosen by him to help start the Media Club along with my friends. He had a way of inspiring kids to be their best and will be truly missed.

May God bless you brother, rest in peace.

Mr. Rogers (as we always called him) was my media teacher at South Frederick Elementary. He entertained the entire school with his with morning announcements. He started the schools first student School Crossing Guard group, teaching impressionable young children responsibilities and leadership skills. I remember riding the student pep bus in 7th grade to Cole Field House to watch him lead our Frederick Cadets to their last state championship in 1982. His Rotary teams in Babe Ruth were...
