Mr. Hastings, Thank you for being a great Gentleman! You were a great coach and teacher at Garfield High School. I had you for Driver's Education. Thanks for making it easy to learn while making us laugh during your teachings. Thanks for being part of OUR BULLDOG FAMILY! Your memory will live on in all of our lives! I was very sorry to read the obituary in the LA Times for Don. It brought back many memories while I was a student at Garfield High School. Don was my Tennis Coach in 1959-1960. I was not a very good player at the time, but he never gave up trying to help me improve my game. He wanted to give "the boys from East los Angeles" a chance to see a real Tennis tournament by taking us to the Los Angeles Tennis Club in Hancock Park.
I also became a teacher, and met him again while teaching Driver...
