Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc - Village of Johnson Obituary

Cody Offrell LoMedico, 42, of Bangor, PA, passed away on his birthday, August 21, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center-Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

Born in New York City, NY, on August 21, 1983, Cody was the beloved son of Joseph “Jody” Anthony LoMedico of Towson, MD, and Georgiana M. (Offrell) Offrell of Bangor, PA.

Cody was a proud 2001 graduate of Bangor High School, where he excelled on the Varsity Baseball team and, in those same years, played in the American Legion Baseball League. In addition, as a young student, Cody was recognized and included in Bangor’s gifted children program.

He furthered his education at the Institute of Audio Research in New York City. After his time at I.A.R., Cody was involved with many developing and talented recording artists and subsequent album projects, putting his skills and passion to work. He also became a Live Sound Engineer at "Jazz Standard" in New York City, home to many great jazz artists, and also at "The Poetry Club “ on the Bowery in Manhattan.

Although baseball was his high school sport, Cody discovered his greatest passion in golf. In his twenties, he became semi-pro at a Brooklyn golf club, continuing his journey at an assimilated computer golf center where he was taken under the wing of the golf pro there, where he excelled as an instructor and custom club fitter. It was here that he refined his skills, developed a deep love for the game, and then launched a valiant attempt to qualify for the professional tour. Later, Cody happily accepted the opportunity to be an Assistant Golf Coach at Bangor High School, where he also gave private lessons to many junior golfers.

Like anything Cody pursued, he put his whole mind and heart into it. He was an avid reader and researcher, always learning, always curious, and always eager to master whatever interested him.

Consistent with his passion to help others, Cody chose to be an organ donor.

Cody is survived by his loving parents; his “Bonus Mom,”( as he lovingly called her) Janet LoMedico; his sister, Brooke Whittington; his brothers, Billy (Alyssa) and Brent “Bubba” Whittington, and Philip John LoMedico, II; his paternal grandmother, Charlotte Genuso; four cherished nieces and nephews, Adri, Nicky, Trip, and Brooks; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dedicated friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Philip John LoMedico; his maternal grandparents, Charles Hjalmer and Doris Elise (Womack) Offrell; and his aunt, Lynn Roberta Offrell.

So often overlooked, we choose to acknowledge the love shared between Cody and his bonus grandparents, Jane and Dave Millard.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on September 20, 2025, at Cornerstone Church, 34 S. Second Street, Easton, PA, 18042. Reception to follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., “Village of Johnsonville,” Bangor, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.

Not sure what to say?

Dear Cody the Bear, Baby Bear Cody... I loved you before you were born (under the same astrological sign as I was), after you were born, and I will continue to love you in the afterlife. I love you. -Aunt Laura forever

Cody, I am sorry I never got the chance to know you but with the words written by your father I do now. Thank you for being the man you were, and sharing your love and passions with all those you loved. When we lose someone we love too early I always try to keep speaking their name as it keeps them with us & allows a bit of comfort. You're work is not done here, it goes on and on through your teachings, memories, and family/friends that loved you.

Hey cuz, I have described you as "my favorite of my grandparents' six grandchildren, including me." Cody, thank you for being the kindest, funniest person. You are a bigger part of me and how I see the world than I expect you ever knew. I wish there was more time. I will love you forever.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of Cody. Remember the good times. Rest In Peace my friend

Cody you were the most loyal and hilarious friend. So many laughs and good times had. I’ll never forget you. Myrtle Beach trips, sports, parties, white boys trying to rap (you were actually good), hanging at the Bone Dome and your mansion, fishing, golfing. Wish we could make more memories, but I’ll always remember the ones we did make. Love you buddy.

My condolences go out to all of the family and friends who loved Cody so much. What a great guy.

He was a kind person and he could always make everyone in the room laugh rest in peace my friend you will be dearly missed
