John added freshness & humor to our coffee group.

John was a favorite of all of us in the Coffee Club.

We at the Classroom Closet send our deepest condolences to the family. Rev. Truitt was a great supporter of education and the Classroom Closet.

John was a great friend & member of our coffee group in Burlington. He was very friendly, humble man with a wonderful sense of humor. I just returned from his funeral at Elon Community Church; it was a beautiful service. John will be sadly missed by many many people in the Elon-Burlington area!

Sorry to hear about Col Truitts passing. We have wonderful memories of your family while station in Crete Greece. We attended many services that Col Pruitt preached. My wife (Sylvia) was raised in Burlington and I met her while attending Elon. Sylvia passed away a year ago. You and your family are in our prayers. Sam Brady and family.

Dolores, Melinda & grandchildren- Your tremendous loss is felt by all of us. Heaven has welcomed a truly great man but his passing leaves a huge hole here on earth. His engaging personality and infectious smile will be missed by us all. RIP Colonel.
