Not sure what to say?

God Speed, Sir!

I had the wonderful experience of being a student in a USC-B class entitled: Soviet Foreign Policy, and taught by Colonel Stockell. It was by far the best college class I ever attended, mainly because of the Colonel's exhaustive memory and his first hand encounters with the Soviet officials mentioned in the textbook. I still tell people about the class and the instructor. I feel wonderfully fortunate to have known Colonel Stockell, and envious of the life he led. My heart and prayers to...

Col. Stockell definitely was an influence on my life. I once visited his office at the Chamber of Commerce, where through conversation he led me to become a part of the Republican Party. My wife and I took the opportunity to visit his home a couple of years ago, which was very delightful. It was a thrill for us to listen to the stories of the wonderful trips and adventures he had made, along with the hunting trophies displayed. He was a true patriot, and will be missed by many.

I knew Uncle Charlie (that's what the Holmberg kids all called him) was a great man and a great American. But I was a little stunned by how great reading his obituary. And also saddened that I didn't take the time to go down and spend some time with him and interview him concerning his rich, fascinating, and noble life. Battle of the Bulge! One of the first people to make contact with the Russian Army as they invaded Nazi Germany from the east!!! I had no idea. Or was too busy being a dumb...

To Lee, Duncan & Kim,
Charlie was a dedicated patriot and a US Army Officer to his bones. He served our nation with distinction in peace and war. He will be missed!!! Yes he broke the mold!!

Charlie will be remembered for his love of family and country. Beaufort has benefited greatly from many of his works going back to the days when he was the director of the Chamber of Commerce in Beaufort. God bless you Lee and Family. Carl and Cecile

As a friend , mentor , outdoor companion , no one could ask for better Trips too numerous to recount and adventures that were myriad. Met Charlie as a patient at Offutt AFB and found a kindred soul. We did trips worldwide with many of them of the first time exploratory nature. Couln't ask for a better mentor. He and his lovely wife were at the top of the "Best Friends" list along with his son and hunting partner, Duncan. Saying I'll miss him, doesn't even come close. God Speed, Brother...

"Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." All our sympathy and love to Mrs. Stockell, Kim, and Duncan from all of the O'Kelleys. The Old Master broke the mold with the Colonel, that's for sure - Hambone
