Not sure what to say?

I have just today bought To Sail Beyond the Sunset at a magnificent old book store in Glen Innes. I bought this because of my love for natural history along with reading on the cover sleeve that Colin was born in Port Pirie in 1950 where my Grandmother lived for many years around that time. Connections have a way of influencing our lives in unexpected ways and as I was born in '51 my appreciation of peers who led exceptional lives grows even deeper as we share that similar outlook on life...

Dear Denise
Deepest sympathy for your loss.I find it very difficult to beleive that he is gonei.I cannot find the words to express my sorrow for your loss. I will miss very much.

Dear Denise,
My thoughts are with you. I realize the two of you were very close and supportive of each others dreams and aspirations, wherever it might take you - you have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Sincerely,
Carrie

I have vivid memories of how excited University of the Virgin Islands students were about Colin Finney's class. He was an inspiration to his colleagues.

I befriended Colin immediately upon his hiring by the U. of the Virgin Islands. He was a brilliant teacher. I saw him almost daily during the time he spent at UVI, yet he never even told me that he was a book author, and that he had received all of those awards for scholarship. I seek to live by his high standards for excellence. His passing saddens me deeply.

With deepest sympathy to Denise at this very difficult time. May all of the wonderful memories of your husband bring your comfort.

I am happy to have known Colin for his time in St. Thomas

Sincere condolences to Denise and to all of Colin's family. This is very sad news. I enjoyed learning something new and surprising about Colin every week, for a number of years whilst at Imperial College Canoe Club, London. He will not be forgotten.
