Not sure what to say?

Some how I feel I have served under this great man for many years. I am 10 years younger than Colin and to his daughter I am still aboard each and every day. God bless this nation and may we all live in peace.

Colin was my first cousin, we did not communicate though the years. Remembering his visit one summer after graduation from Annapolis he drove up in his clean red Chevy Corvette. As for family, father Waino, mother Mina, sister were honestly the best of people on earth. Visited his home in Seattle long before I thought to get involved in the US Navy. He actually slept in a bunk bed, LOL. He was at all times a gentleman an it has been an honor. I had always hoped someday we would meet again....

Classmate, friend and my superb Chief of Staff in Seattle, Washington. Always cheerful with a smile. He faithfully served his country with pride and honor during the cold war period. He will be missed.

Trish, Remember the many good memories you had together. I look back fondly on those times Sandy and I shared with you both.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

I had the distinct privilege of sharing a cubicle with Captain Saari at BUPERS. In an extremely demanding position he never lost his enthusiasm, diligence, or sense of humor: my sense is he was never really challenged. He was far and away the best mentor I had in my 36-year Naval career.

Sailor, rest your oar.

Trish and the Saari family. Colin was a wonderful soul and we enjoyed knowing him. Our prayers are that God will grant you peace. Peter & Melissa Stitt

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), I offer our sincere condolences on Colin's passing. You and your loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers. We are forever grateful for Colin's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service. To our Brother of the Phin we say, Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you...

Dear Trish,

It was with a heavy heart I read of Colin's passing this morning. Both of you were wonderful during our Navy League association. And, you were both so kind to me after Barney's death.

Sending you my sincere condolences and the hope that your precious memories will bring you peace.
