Not sure what to say?

As a brother in law, I witnessed the family side of Colleen compared to her professional career. She hosted dozens of family gatherings that were always great ways to share some good times and build family unity. My only gifts to the family were dozens of inane attempts at humor which she tolerated graciously, never once attempting to silence me with her rolling pin, which thankfully she keep hidden from other family members who were anxious to find it. She conducted her life with grace and...

My deepest sympathy at the loss of such a wonderful teacher and human. Mrs. Hunter was one of my favorite teachers at ACCHS (Class of 98). She challenged me to reach beyond what I thought I was capable of and was a key influence in me becoming an English major in college and cultivating my love of literature and writing. Rest in peace and thank you for being an unforgettable teacher to myself and so many!

Mrs. Hunter once said that a good 'thank you' note will have a thesis statement. I cannot do justice to her legacy other than to say, I think of her fondly, and credit her teaching with making me a sharper writer and thinker. She channeled the anti-establishment impulses of so many young students into something productive which is a credit to her, her legacy, and the Lehigh Valley.

My deepest sympathies go out to Mrs. Hunter's family. In a crowded group of outstanding educators at CCHS, she stood out as an inspiration and guide. It has been nearly 30 years but recently when one of my kids asked why we subscribe to the New Yorker, my first response was "because Mrs. Hunter told me to!" I had always hoped I would see her again to thank her for her wisdom and her deep commitment to education and to her students. Rest in peace, Mrs. Hunter.

Mr. Hunter and family, Not just from Fountain Hill, but from St. Francis Academy as well, Mrs. Hunter was a reminder that I can do anything if I put mind and heart in it! She always pushed me beyond my limits and today as a teacher that is what I work hard to do with my students. I have many great memories! May she rest in peace and my sympathy and prayers to the family!

Dear Bob and Family, Tom and I want to offer our prayers for you and your family during this sad time in your lives.
We lived down the street at 1225 Moravia and the Exchange Club was an active activity for all. Many good memories in Fountain Hill!

Mrs. Hunter (my teacher) and Colleen (later my colleague) was truly an unbelievable English teacher. I was fortunate to be in her class as a junior (her first year at CCHS) and then able to work with her for five years. The amount of knowledge and understanding she could bestow on her students was impressive. My work as an English teacher has always been modeled after her. She was the "(Green) and Gold Standard" of an educator. She is still in the classroom through her numerous former...

I am so sorry to hear about Colleen's passing. She was a wonderful woman, a great teacher, and an amazing colleague. My prayers go out to Bob and the rest of the family. She will be missed!

Remember Mrs.Hunter when she taught at FHHS. Sweet, patient, the ability to make you want to be a better student. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
