Not sure what to say?

You took us all there with you! Outstanding

My condolences goes out to the Kittinger family. You can be comforted by all he had accomplished as he was a retired Air Force command pilot who set a record in 1960 for the longest freefall skydive. May your loving heavenly Father comfort the family in the days and months ahead.

I only became aware of Colonel Kittinger thanks to PBS, but I was and am still in awe of his achievements and service to our country. My heartfelt condolences to all of his loved ones.

I had the honor of meeting, and flying with Joe while attending Sun n Fun in Florida several years ago. His zest for life radiated in every discussion and activity he participated in! He will be sorely missed!

Air Commandos - Joe Kittinger (far right)

Before his F-4 assignment in the Vietnam War, Joe Kittinger flew B-26 and A-26 attack aircraft with the USAF Air Commandos in Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. In Fly By Knights, a new book published in 2022, Joe has two outstanding stories about his daring and highly effective Air Commando combat missions. In the Air Commando photo, Joe appears at the far right under the nose guns.

So sorry for your loss. May God br with the family during this most difficult time.

I just heard the news this morning and was instantly taken back to elementary when he visited and flew over the school. I remember being so impressed at meeting a real life superhero. He didn't stop at serving his country; he went on to inspire everyone he met. When I pass the local park named after him, I feel such a sense of honor and usually pass his story on to whoever I'm with. It's almost as if there's nothing he didn't accomplish in his lifetime. I want to express my deepest...

Colonel Joe Kittenger is one of the most Impressive individuals I ever had the opportunity to meet. So much so that I name my arena, football team, the phantoms after the F4 or that the Colonel flew. Bravery, Honor and Spirit such as his, is something that I see diminishing in a time when we are in such need of it. Men like him are becoming fewer and fewer. I am continually inspired by his example.

There is even more about Joe Kittinger’s remarkable life and Air Force career. See “Come Up And Get Me,” for his autobiography book, and his stories in “Fly By Knights,” a 2022 book about B-26 and A-26 air commando missions in the Vietnam War. I am the editor of Fly By Knights, and I extend my sincere condolences to the family.
