Not sure what to say?

The Lord took Hal from us? I am devastated. Honored and trusted colleague, always ready with a smile and the right answer in a difficult time or situation. Fly high, now, Hal!

Hal was quite simply, the most extraordinary person I ever had the pleasure of knowing. When he went off to Willamette University in 1980, he wanted to become a play write. By the time he graduated in 1984 he was going off to US Airforce Officer Training School. He was capable of anything and always the same grounded, interesting and compassionate person to his core. He never took himself too seriously, with a generosity of spirit and quick wit that made him so unique. Deepest condolences...

Ah, Hal ... what crappy news. I grew up with Hal. Knew him when he was still "Weird Harold" or "Lizard". We called him "Weird Harold" for obvious reasons related to his unique personality and sense of humor, and we called him "Lazard" because of his talent for spitting, both for accuracy and for distance. Sean McCabe saved Hal from these indignities. Because of Sean, he forever became Hal. Hal and I were also on the wrestling team together through both Junior High and High School. Hal´s...

May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand

Hal was an integral part of `Kroehbel´s Gang of Six´ the morale booster and often times bane of the 325rh. He will be missed by all. "EW, nav, cease buzzer"

Oh, my gosh. Im so deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I knew Hal in HS, where we both worked on the school newspaper. His crazy sense of humor kept the news staff laughing during late-night deadlines. The newspaper had a feature called "Totem Tots" whereby a young, often a baby or toddler photo, would be published for the student body to guess who. I remembered contacting his mom for a photo... she told me her favorite was part of the family 'potato bowl' design (?) and she just...

I was Hal´s friend in junior and senior high at Chinook and Tyee. Hal was the funniest, most intelligent guy I knew at the time, but the name "Harold" was an old man´s name. So I started calling him "Hal", and it stuck. We were good friends all that time, did crazy 70s kid stuff, quoted Monty Python sketches, generally hung out and I could always rely on him. Always amazed me that a guy whose dad was a lifelong tradesman doing sheetrock was so erudite. He routinely quoted Shakespeare, knew...

Colonel Hal Westbrook - a friend, a gentleman and a dedicated officer, gone too soon.

So saddened and shocked to hear of Hal's passing. Fitting tribute to a man who always made me feel seen. Je was charming and so funny! My heart breaks for you. Hope you find some peace as you move forward. Much Love, Kathie
