Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

ANSONIA: Concetta T. Posca, age 76, entered eternal rest on February 20, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of sixty years to Antonio P. Posca Sr.

Concetta was born in Isca Sullo Ionio, province of Catanzaro, in the Calabria region of Italy, on September 5, 1949, daughter of the late Antonio and Marianna (Betro) Gallello. Shortly after she and Antonio married, they came to the United States, first living in Bridgeport, and settled in Ansonia fifty-five years ago. She raised her three children and began her working career at Bic Pen and later retired from Schick Razor in Milford. She was a devoted communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Her greatest accomplishment was being a wife, mother, and proud Nonna. Concetta was loved by many and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband Antonio, she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Anthony P. Posca, M.D. (Chelsea), and Umberto N. Posca, a daughter, Libera T. Posca, grandchildren, Umbie Posca (Erin), Alexandra Posca (John), Nicolino Posca Sr. (Selina), and Edwin Maldonado, great-grandsons, Nicolino Posca Jr. and Roman Posca, sisters, Fulvia Romeo (Enrico) of Rome, Italy and Mariafranca Dognini of Cremona, Italy, daughter-in-law, Sandra Posca, sister-in-law, Mary Cirilo and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Anthony Posca, brothers-in-law, Ettore Dognini and Dolores Cirilo, sister-in-law, Celestina Camagna, and in-laws, Umberto, and Liberata Posca.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with the family on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, her funeral will begin at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia. Entombment will immediately follow in the Posca Mausoleum located inside St. Michael’s Cemetery in Stratford.
