Conkle Funeral Home, Avon Chapel - Avon Obituary

Connie Sue (Jones) Coy was born in Wayne, Nebraska on November 2, 1952, to Earl Ross Jones and Fern Emma (Hesemann) Jones.  The youngest of three children, she and her siblings: Judy Ann (Jones) Richards and Kenneth Earl Jones lived on a farm south of Wayne. In 1955, her family moved into...

Not sure what to say?

I was blessed to meet Rev. Connie Coy at Community Hospitals, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was then the Chaplaincy Department Director, I was a part time Catholic priest chaplain. From the beginning I was very much impressed of her many talents willing to share with others totally and in joy.
On May 2015, I had my 50th anniversary as a Catholic priest.
Rev. Connie proclaimed the reading of the Gospel during the Mass. It was the first time that an ordained lady did it from the pulpit...

Connie was a bright light. Her and I often talked about guitars and our preferences. Always with a smile and a hug. I enjoyed hearing her sing with the band she played in. I have to say that the world was a good place with her in it. She shall be missed.
Due to my health issues, I couldn’t make services; I asked Patty to extend my sincere condolences.

Sent John & Joseph 2-page tribute/poem. Daunting travel logistics: after missing their wedding, really sad to miss this funeral. Only benefit: reading about Connie's school days, all the instruments she played & later how thoroughly she embraced John's model train passion, making it hers. Met Connie at chamber music concert Columbus Day weekend in Columbus (OH); immediately impressed by her intelligence (smart eyes!), how elegantly she dressed (on a tight budget) and how confidently she...

Our NMRA gatherings will always miss your smiling presence. Godspeed.

Connie and I have known each other from the time we met at Hahn School in Wayne, Nebraska in 1959. In high school her family relocated to Florida but Connie always kept in touch with her many friends of which I was blessed to be one. Besides being a good person, Connie was always one of the top students in our class. Betty Fisher gave me a photo of the children’s orchestra at Hahn which was overseen by Dr. Bernstein, Mr Heppfinger and Miss Bonita Van de Grift. There is Connie with her violin...

A very kind friend to me when I was new to Wayne when we met in 5th grade. Bless her and her many accomplishments.

She will truly be missed by her model railroading fraternity. Connie among her other talents as noted, was Secretary for the MidWest Region, which covers parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. God speed, Connie.

I love you and miss you already. Our little family will never be the same, but I know you're watching over us from Heaven and I'll see you again someday.

I love you forever Connie! You gave everything to me and Joseph. We will see you again one day in heaven.
