Obituary

Connie Ann Hendrickson, age 61, of Mpls., passed away Oct. 5, 2002, surrounded by loving friends and family. She is preceded in death by her father, Arne Hendrickson; her mother, Elsie Kraus; her brother, Harvey; and her sister, Marlys. Connie was employed by St. Joseph's Home for Children for 25 years, during which time she received the Ena Guidarelli Award for most outstanding employee of Catholic Charities. She was a loving gardener of souls. Connie is survived by her brothers, Marlin (Leona) Smestad of Minot, ND, and Lyle (Liz) Hendrickson of Eveleth, MN; her companion, Carlyn Gilmore; several nieces and nephews, relatives in both ND and Canada, and by many dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat., Oct. 19, 2002 at 10:00 AM at Dawn Valley Funeral Home (9940 Bush Lake Rd., Bloomington). Its been over a year since you left and still every time I feel the wind ruffling up my hair or hear it pushing through the trees,I know you are near. The moon in all its phases reminds me of you. Connie was an awesome loving person, in a hurting body. She has made my life much more special, even when she always thought i was a little kid. I love you Connie.

You were so fundamental to how we celebrated the holiday season at St. Joe's! You were always there to to help out...making sure the kids had everything they needed. You were a straight shooter and people really knew where they stood with you. Your shoes are way big to fill. You are missed and loved.
