CONNIE MOORE Obituary

Connie Jo Moore
July 12, 1938 - August 23, 2020

DEL CITY
Connie Jo Moore passed away on August 23, 2020. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to William "Slim" Wilson and Ruth Marie Wilson. She grew up with three sisters, and attended Del City High School. She married Don Edmond Moore on December 3, 1954. Together they owned and operated Don's Alley Restaurant since 1955. They had six children, who all at some point or another worked at the restaurant. Along with her children, Connie had 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who all loved her dearly.
One of Connie's favorite things to do was gardening and tending to her flowers. She also was an animal lover and avid bird watcher, and had a pet bird named Junior and a dog named Maggie. She loved to watch sports, including golf, bowling, and basketball; she was a part of a bowling league as well as the PTA Mom's Basketball League. Having six children kept Connie busy, so she was constantly driving them around to different places. She was a wonderful caregiver and the rock of the family. She was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William "Slim" and Ruth Wilson; three sisters, Shirley Buchanan, Barbara Moore, and Sharon Moore; and daughter-in-law, Tina.
She is survived by her husband, Don Moore; six children, Gregory Moore, Mark Moore, Tammy Davison (husband Grant), Dawnna Clark (husband Bryan), Joel Moore (wife Shelley), and Jennifer Lepchenske; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. Services will be at 2pm Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Sunnylane Family Church, 4221 SE 41st St., Del City, OK, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.

My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Moore family. I worked at the restaurant in high school (78) and always thought a lot of Connie, Don and the whole family. She will be missed by everyone who knew. Everyone take care and cherish the special memories.

Sending my condolences to the entire family. I worked at Don's Alley for several years throughout high school and college and my mom and dad (Don and Jane Tillery) visited there multiple times per week long before I was born until they moved to Arkansas. Connie was a wonderful and fun lady to visit with. I always loved when she came to the restaurant to eat and chat. I will keep you all in my prayers.

My Mom and Dad loved going to Don’s. It was always a homey place. Mrs. Moore kept a good eye on everything. She will be missed by generations of Del City folks.
