Connie S. Stevens, 57 of Flint Michigan, died September 1, 2022, in McLaren Hospital after a long illness. She was born March 20, 1965, in Port Huron, Michigan the daughter of Robert and Shirley (Hoppenworth) Fairman.


Connie graduated from Cros-Lex High School in 1983, and attended Baker College in Flint majoring in Business Administration.


Connie married James Stevens in Flint in 1995. Jim preceded her in death in 1997.


Connie worked in retail most of her career and before retiring had worked many years for Big Lots at various locations before being promoted to the manager position of the furniture department in the Lapeer location. She was a dedicated employee, always taking on extra responsibilities, helping out in any department and traveling throughout Michigan to assist at other stores. Connie was an avid crafter, making Christmas ornaments for her family, ceramics, making wooden lawn ornaments and characters. She loved traveling, attending craft shows, flea markets and antique festivals. She especially loved going to Shipshewana. She had a special knack for gift giving, she always searched for and found the perfect gift for the people she loved. Connie had a special affection for her constant companion, her shih tzu, Spencer.


Throughout her long illness, Connie was known for her cheerfulness, positive attitude; kind and encouraging words to her fellow patients, and never complaining about her treatments.


Connie is survived by her parents of Applegate, fiancé’ Donald Goodrich of Flint and his children Jessica Reda and Jacob Goodrich. Connie is also survived by her brother Mark (Carolyn) Fairman, Peck, nephews and nieces, Brandon Fairman, Applegate; Dylan (Allison) Fairman, Brown City; Jason Van Brande, Peck; Rochelle (Darrius) Stevens, Peck and Roxanne (Tom) Nugent, Yale and many great nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Connie was preceded in death by nephew, Justin Fairman.


Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
